  • We LOVE working with this age group. If there is one thing we know, it's that teens and young adults THRIVE when they feel connected and respected.

We have experience and passion to help our young people find comfort in who they are and to build confidence in their abilities to navigate the challenges of life.

Our therapists have been working directly with this age demographic. What we see most are symptoms showing up as anxiety, depression, self-injury, substance usesuicidal ideations and more, that are often a result of difficulty in handling emotions - whether it be recognizing, understanding, labeling, expressing and/or regulating these biological forces in ones body! This is why emotion education is a core component of our practice.

  • Our therapists come to the table with a wealth of experience and are ready to support you and your concerns. Are you are struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, PTSD, somatic symptoms, grief/loss or something else? We are here to help..

At Caught Dreamin’ Therapy, you will have an opportunity to learn more about yourself, gain valuable insight and take the steps needed to create change so you can be your best version of yourself.

We are here to offer guidance to reconnect, heal, and transform.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, which means we will work to devise a plan based on your unique needs.

  • Walk and Talk Therapy *

Why settle to settle in when you can have your therapy session and walk too!

Walk and talk therapy offers a unique alternative to traditional face-to-face or Telehealth therapy methods.

This method of therapy allows clients to experience much needed quick doses of nearby nature, which help to de-stress, find focus and lighten mental fatigue.

Walk-Talk is a mindfulness-based body oriented therapy that can make it easier for clients to relax, stop over-thinking, release physical tension, and breathe deep while processing experiences in a new way. Clients talk with JoAnne while walking outdoors rather than sitting a therapy office or in front of a computer screen. Walking side by side rather than sitting face to face enables some clients to feel more comfortable when sharing in the therapy process.

The research is out there and it is showing wonderful, healing effects when it comes to getting outside, moving and enjoying nature.

    What you can expect

After meeting once in the office, to complete all necessary paperwork and information gathering, we will start and finish our walk and talk sessions at the Caught Dreamin’ Therapy office.

The client sets the pace, so there is no need to be concerned about walking to fast or slow. We will walk side by side along the beautiful heritage trail in the direction of your choice. We will discuss what comes to mind for you that day in the context of your overall goals, just like we would while sitting in an office session. There may be moments of standing in silent reflection, deep breathing or sitting in guided visualization. At the end of your session, you will likely experience a sense of greater focus, less stress and anxiety and an overall feeling of being more energized and ready for your day.

  • Teletherapy makes high-quality mental health support more accessible than ever, breaking down barriers like travel time and scheduling challenges. Whether you're at home, at work, or anywhere in Michigan, therapy is just a click away.

It's convenient. Does it work? Yes!

Many studies show that teletherapy works just as well as in-person therapy for many people, especially when it comes to treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other common mental health issues.

    • Effectiveness: Research shows that teletherapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for improving mental health in both adults and kids.

    • Access: Teletherapy has made it easier for people in rural areas, those with mobility issues, or anyone dealing with transportation problems to get the support they need.

    • Engagement: Many clients feel more comfortable and open during virtual sessions, which helps them get more out of therapy.

    Teletherapy is perfect for EVERYONE!

For Adults: Teletherapy is ideal for those managing a busy work-life balance, offering flexible scheduling and eliminating the need for long commutes. You can access therapy from the comfort of your home or office, providing both convenience and privacy.

For Kids: Teletherapy helps kids feel more at ease in a familiar setting, making them more comfortable and open during sessions. It also reduces the stigma of therapy, while offering a convenient option for kids with busy schedules or travel challenges.

For Parents: With teletherapy, parents can avoid the stress of transportation and ensure their children get the support they need without leaving home. It also creates a comfortable space for kids to express themselves openly.

For Families & Couples: Teletherapy fosters better communication within families or couples, giving everyone a chance to participate in discussions and strengthening relationships, all while offering the convenience of participating from home.

Ready to start?

At the beginning of treatment, it is recommended that you meet with your therapist weekly. Standard sessions are 53-minutes long.

The first session is an assessment and helps the therapist to better understand your needs.  Following your assessment, a treatment plan will be developed based on the following information collected through a fun exploration of what's important to you, your hopes and dreams, identifying what you want to do more of, defining happiness and recognizing areas in your life that need some work.

Before starting here, I didn’t “believe” therapy worked. I and those around me have noticed growth within my session each week. I cannot thank my therapist and all other staff enough for the welcoming environment and the tools given to me to manage and enjoy life! After sharing my experience here with friends and family who are skeptical about therapy - they’ve slowly changed their outlook and look into getting support for themselves. You all are seriously amazing!
