Teletherapy Only

Hello, my name is Karrie Abraham, and I’m a hybrid therapist- licensed occupational therapist and a limited licensed clinical social worker. My therapeutic focus expands beyond the imaginary line between “health” and “mental health.” I prefer to examine what personal challenges there might be then collaborate to improve it. With 15 years of experience treating physical & mental health conditions across the lifespan, I have curated a therapeutic approach that integrates mind-body healing to help individuals regain physical, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual wellness. I love assisting others to create a meaningful life that embraces their authentic self along with their body & mind needs.

In my practice, I blend traditional and non-traditional occupational therapy methods to provide customized and client-centered treatment. Talk therapy strategies I utilize are artistic expression, somatic/bodywork, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Strengths-Based Approach. This specialized combination of therapies allows for a comprehensive understanding of yourself, including your intrinsic and extrinsic qualities. We will work together to find and practice the right techniques and strategies needed for your healing and specific lifestyle. You are ever-evolving, and so should your therapy.

I have moved across the country and back again. Marquette, Michigan, will always be home despite being a rolling stone. It is the place where I discovered my passions: helping others, nature, and the power of the mind.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Grand Valley State University, a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Master of Science in Clinical Social Work from Northern Michigan University. I hold specialized certifications in Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness Instructor, Mindfulness Meditation Leader, Therapeutic Yoga, and Nonviolent Crisis Prevention & Intervention.

My life journey has profoundly shaped my distinctive therapeutic perspective & skillset. It has allowed me to create a safe, supportive, healing relationship with a wide variety of individuals of various health conditions, mixed functional status, and diverse backgrounds. I’m passionate about holistically helping you live meaningfully and align with your most authentic self.

Peace is not the absence of chaos or conflict, but rather finding yourself in the midst of that chaos and remaining calm in your heart"
