Hi, I’m JoAnne Garrow, the founder of Caught Dreamin’ Therapy, LLC, and a proud member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. If you’re struggling with mental health or substance abuse challenges, I’m here to help you find balance and healing. As a licensed therapist, I’ve dedicated my career to supporting adolescents and adults on their journey to wellness.
In my practice, I combine talk therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Strengths-Based techniques, Written Exposure Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing with body-based therapies like Brainspotting and trauma-imformed Breathwork. This blend helps you understand your thoughts and emotions while tapping into your body’s natural ability to heal. By integrating both mind and body approaches, we can achieve deeper and more holistic healing, incorporating the wisdom of our bodies into the path to wellness.
I also love the outdoors and believe in the power of nature for healing. That’s why I offer walk-and-talk therapy sessions, bringing our conversations into the natural world.
Before starting Caught Dreamin’ Therapy, I gained valuable experience as a parent of four, a board member at the Women’s Center, and a Substance Abuse Counselor and Mental Health Therapist at Great Lakes Recovery Centers. I also pioneered the role of in-school mental health therapist in Marquette Area Public Schools. For the past three years, I’ve been running and building the Caught Dreamin’ Therapy private practice, leading a team of 15 employees that serve hundreds of Michigan community members.
I hold a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University, along with certifications in addiction counseling, Brainspotting, and Pause trauma-informed Breathwork.
My diverse experiences have shaped my approach to therapy, allowing me to build strong relationships and support my clients effectively. I’m passionate about helping you find your path to healing and growth.
